The Pope Invests In A Used Car

The pope has one of the most famous rides in the world: the Popemobile. It's not practical to always travel around in an easily identifiable, bulletproof vehicle, however, which is why the church leader has invested in a used car. Pope Francis, who has famously traveled by public transportation and advocated for simple living, accepted a 1984 Renault 4 as a symbolic gift from an Italian priest.

Father Renzo Zocca, a 70-year-old priest from Northern Italy, reached out to the pope to inform the leader of his used car and offer it as a gift. The vehicle, which was primarily used to visit parishioners, features a white paint job and has racked up about 186,000 miles in its decades of use. Despite its age, the pope was more than willing to accept the car and was even ready to drive it, as he owned a similar Renault 4 back in his native Argentina, Reuters reported.

While it's doubtful Pope Francis will be making any public appearances in the used car, he is ready to ride around Vatican City in the vehicle. Should the weather turn and snow start to fall, the pontiff will be prepared – the Renault has snow tires stashed in the trunk.

"I think the pope will drive it a bit himself inside the Vatican," said Father Ciro Benedettini, the deputy spokesman for the Holy See, as quoted by the news source.

While the 20-year-old car may be right for the pope, most American drivers are probably searching for something a bit more modern. That's where New Jersey State Auto Auction can come into play. The lot is home to many CARFAX-certified vehicles that provide a solid, dependable ride at an affordable cost.

Bumblebee Camaro for Transformers 4 Revealed

Since Michael Bay announced that he would be directing the fourth Transformers movie, much of the attention has been on the cars and trucks being developed for the film. The big rig scheduled to fill the role of Optimus Prime has been unveiled, along with a number of other concepts for the upcoming movie, and now Bay has revealed the concept for Bumblebee. This Autobot has taken the lead role for his species of organic alien robots, as he is the best friend and sidekick of Sam Witicky, played by Shia LaBeouf, so it's no wonder this secret was saved for last.

On Michael Bay's website, a photo of the car, a Camaro of course, was published along with a caption indicating this is "the final jewel in the Transformers 4 crown." The concept is somehow sleeker than last year's edgy design, with extremely low-profile LED headlights and a muscular, low body. While the rugged yet elegant sports car is sure to rev car enthusiasts' engines, AutoBlog indicates they shouldn't get too excited. The news source reports this will likely not be the concept for the upcoming production model. Still, the Camaro is certainly drool-worthy, as are the various other cars that will be featured in the upcoming flick. The movie, which has not yet been given an official title, is set to come out sometime in the summer of 2014, according to IMDb.

Other cars to be featured in the movie include a Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, Lamborghini Aventador, Chevrolet Sonic Rally Car and Pagani Huayra. While most of these cars are sure to tantalize viewers, many people cannot reasonably afford to fill their garage with similar models. However, that doesn't mean they can't find a fun, sporty ride of their own. New Jersey Auto Auction has a wide selection of used makes and models, making it easy to find a sports car at a reasonable price.

New ‘Transformers’ Film To Include A-list Cast of Cars

The real stars of some films aren't just actors. In the case of movie franchises like "Fast & Furious" and "Transformers," the automobiles used are just as important as the drivers, which makes the selections in each film both incredibly important and highly anticipated. Although "Transformers 4" isn't scheduled to appear in theaters until July 2014, the mastermind behind the films, director Michael Bay, is already revealing some of the cars fans can expect to see on the big screen.

One of the latest additions to the cast of cars is a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. With a top speed of 217 miles per hour, the vehicle has plenty of power to go along with its incredibly sleek exterior – practically ensuring it will be a star in the upcoming "Transformers" flick.

The Lamborghini Aventador will join an impressive lineup of vehicles. Bay previously revealed that a modern Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse – otherwise known as the world's fastest convertible – would be featured in "Transformers 4." A classic 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS will make an appearance, Top Speed reports.

An old favorite is also slated to get a facelift in an effort to upgrade with the times. Optimus Prime, one of the main robot characters in the film, is getting an overhaul inspired by a Western Star truck. His new look will include side pipes and numerous smoke stacks, according to AutoBlog.

While you may not be able to find a vehicle that can transform on command, you can search for a sleek used car that will give you the best bang for your buck. At NJ State Auto Auction, there's a wide selection of CARFAX-certified cars, trucks and vans that can provide superior performance and top-notch looks.

‘Man of Steel’ Set to Wow With Help of Ram

Next week, people will line up at movie theaters across the country to see the premiere of "Man of Steel," the latest rendition of the classic superhero story. While they are sure to anticipate plenty of action, drama and men in tights, what theatergoers may not be expecting is the presence of Ram trucks. Chrysler's sub-brand teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures for the 2013 remake of the decades-old classic.

"We are excited to partner with Warner Bros. on 'Man of Steel,'" said Oliver Francois, Chrysler's chief marketing officer. "With film alignment we have a fresh consumer engagement opportunity, connecting the heroic character traits of Superman with Ram's DNA. Our custom creative and marketing program is squarely aimed at building advocacy among passionate fans outside traditional marketing channels."

Since the story of Superman begins when the infant Krypton refugee lands in a Kansas field, The Chrysler Group offered up a number of vintage Ram trucks to set the early scenes of the film. Not only did the company provide vehicles for the film, but it also created a one-of-a-kind "Man of Steel" Power Wagon, which is inspired by the superhero in terms of colors, branding and design. The special truck will make its debut June 10 in New York City, just four days ahead of the national premiere of the highly anticipated summer blockbuster.

Whether you want to feel like a superhero or find a truck as tough as the Man of Steel, you can head to New Jersey Auto Auction. The dealer has a wide selection of used cars, trucks and SUVs, and every model is CARFAX certified, so drivers won't have to worry about any weaknesses to Kryptonite or regular automotive problems when they drive off the lot.

‘Fast & Furious 6’ Set To Thrill Car Lovers

Car fans across the globe have been eagerly awaiting the premiere of "Fast & Furious 6." As the latest installment of the tremendously successful franchise, the film is sure to maintain the tradition of featuring some amazing vehicles – and then destroying them in a spectacular fashion.

The Los Angeles Times reports that between 300 and 400 cars were wrecked during filming. Some of the scenes include unique vehicles like a 1969 Ford Mustang, as well as more common models like the Dodge Charger and Nissan GT-R. All were crushed without prejudice, however, and many in real ways that minimized the need for computer graphics and special effects.

"I can tell you all the actual crash and destruction of vehicles is real," Dennis McCarthy, car coordinator for the "Fast & Furious" films, told The New York Daily News. "That's very rare. And I think that's what keeps the 'Fast & Furious' franchise above all the others, they keep it real. I think that it would disappoint a lot of fans if they didn't."

While most of the vehicles used in the sequences were development cars that would have been destroyed anyway, that didn't stop the price tag from running up. The film budgeted millions of dollars to obtain and then wreck automobiles.

Of course, you can always invest a vehicle without having the intention of crashing it. NJ State Auto Auction has plenty of CARFAX-certified cars, trucks and vans that could be the perfect used car for you. If accidents do occur, the Total Car Care Center is on hand to help you make sure everything is still running smoothly.

Ferrari Owned by John Lennon Going Up for Auction

Anyone who grew up in the 1950s and beyond has likely heard the name John Lennon, and now those who have a special place in their hearts for the former Beatle have the chance to bid on his first car. Lennon purchased a 1965 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 Coupe with an Azzuro blue paint job and a matching blue interior in February 1965. Lennon had just gotten his driver's license, and a caravan of cars arrived at his gated home in Surrey, England. He chose the Ferrari, which he owned until late 1967.

"It is a wonderful commentary on the early excitement generated by 'Beatlemania' that John Lennon didn't even have to leave his house to buy his first car," said Sholto Gilbertson, a senior specialist in the Bonhams Motor Car Department. "We are delighted to be offering a car associated with such an icon of contemporary popular culture at the first of our Goodwood series of auctions in 2013."

After Lennon parted with his ride, it got a red paint job in the 80s, but has since been restored to its original splendor. In addition to being owned by such a legendary cultural figurehead, the car is one of only 500 of its kind. Experts at the Bonhams U.K. auction house estimate that it could bring in anywhere between £180,000 and £220,000 (about $277,000 to $339,000).

While most drivers are likely not going to bid on this noteworthy car, that doesn't mean they can't get a ride of their own that is just as special. Those in the New York/New Jersey area can check out the selection of makes and models available at NJ State Auto Auction. Every car, truck and SUV on the lot is CARFAX certified, ensuring drivers they'll be getting behind the wheel of a reliable ride.

Justin Bieber Makes Waves Behind the Wheel in Dubai

Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber may be known the world over for his catchy songs and sweet singing voice, but Dubai officials are getting to know his law-breaking nature. AutoBlog reports "the Bieb" was caught by six different traffic cameras traveling at excessive speeds through the streets of this United Arab Emirates city.

Not only was the 19-year-old entertainer caught on camera in his Lamborghini Aventador, but the source reports police made several unsuccessful attempts to pull him over. He was also late to one of his weekend concerts in the city, despite speeding around in his supercar. The Daily Mail released photos of the pop star "surfing" on top of an SUV outside one of the clubs where he performed on the Dubai leg of his International Believe Tour. Bieber got his start in the entertainment industry at a young age, and has had a reputation of innocence and purity, but as he has gotten older, numerous run-ins with the law have suggested he's attempting to build a "bad boy" image.

Last fall, Bieber received a ticket from a Los Angeles police officer for speeding through the City of Angels in his white Ferrari, according to TMZ. More recently, the Bieb has landed in hot water due to an argument with a neighbor, who was upset that he was, once again, putting the pedal to the metal in his Ferrari in his gated community, the gossip website reported. While it's unlikely Bieber will go to jail for the offense, he could be facing heavy fines for his rude behavior.

There's no telling when or if Bieber will ease up and obey speed limits, but drivers in the New York/New Jersey area who want to feel like rock stars behind the wheel can find their own ride at NJ State Auto Auction. The dealership, which is open to the public, carries a wide selection of makes and models that are sure to make "Beliebers" out of local drivers, since they are all back by CARFAX.

Maria Sharapova Joins Forces With Porsche

Porsche is no stranger to celebrities. The luxury automaker regularly provides the rides for famous faces, but now, one star will be lending her face to the brand. Maria Sharapova, the tennis sensation who burst onto the scene with a dramatic win at Wimbledon less than a decade ago, has signed on to be the next brand ambassador for Porsche. She will be making appearances in the company's advertising efforts as well representing the automaker at a variety of events, which could range from car shows to athletic tournaments.

While Sharapova has made a name for herself on the court – including winning all four Grand Slam titles and ranking no. 1 for 21 weeks – it's her personality that solidified her as a prime choice to be the manufacturer's spokeswoman.

"Maria Sharapova is an exceptional athlete. She combines top performance in her sports with elegance and power," said Porsche AG's CEO, Matthias Mueller. "These are precisely the qualities that are embroiled in our sports cars. Maria Sharapova is the perfect choice. Her profile and charisma are an ideal fit for Porsche. She is also highly respected around the world and enjoys an outstanding reputation."

This isn't the first time Porsche has extended into the world of tennis. The company currently sponsors the German women's national team as well as an annual tournament in Stuttgart, Germany. In fact, Sharapova herself won the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix last year, which landed her a grand prize of a Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Whether you're looking for sports cars, trucks, vans or anything in between, you can find just the right car at NJ State Auto Auction. The lot is filled with CARFAX certified vehicles that could be the perfect fit for any driver.

Manhattan Makes Way for Daniel Craig and Land Rover

Daniel Craig, a storied actor perhaps best known for his portrayal of the legendary James Bond, got a chance to cruise the streets of midtown Manhattan with no restrictions and no traffic. The city shut down a few blocks to make way for Craig, behind the wheel of the new Range Rover Sport. The actor was delivering the all new luxury SUV to its debut at the New York International Auto Show, which is currently holding press-only days and will soon open its doors to the public.

Craig's excursion on the streets of New York City was broadcast live as part of a short film aptly named "The Delivery," which began at the automaker's factory in the U.K. and followed the Range Rover to New York for its public unveiling.

"The all-new Range Rover Sport is an extraordinary car and we have revealed it in an extraordinary way -live on the street of its biggest selling market," said the company's global brand director John Edwards. "It turned heads and it stopped traffic in one of the most dynamic cities in the world."

Craig was not the only famous face in attendance when Land Rover revealed the new Range Rover Sport, as co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael and former New York Giant Michael Strahan, lead singer of Duran Duran Simon Le Bon and Olympic athlete Zara Philips among others were on hand as well.

While Land Rover's vehicles tend to be on the more expensive side, drivers in the New York/ New Jersey area may be able to find used cars and SUVs that offer similar luxurious features at NJ Auto Auction. The dealer carries a wide range of vehicles, including many luxury brands like Land Rover, BMW and Lexus.

Iconic ‘Breaking Bad’ Car Goes Up for Sale

Anyone who's ever seen the AMC hit "Breaking Bad" knows that Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) drives a light green Pontiac Aztec, and his partner in crime, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), tools around in a beat-up, old Toyota Tercel. Now fans of the drug-infused drama have the chance to own a piece of the action. TMZ reports a mid-1980s Tercel that was used in the show recently went up for sale at a small used car dealership in Albuquerque, N.M.

The Mike Faris Auto Wholesale LTD Facebook page shows photos of the vehicle. In one of the pictures, it is easy to read an enticing offer that has been scrawled across the windshield. It reads, "Jessie's car as seen on 'Breaking Bad' make offer." The dealer is likely hoping to rake in the big bucks on the old beater, as its regular retail value would come in under $1,000 if it didn't have celebrity status, according to New York Daily News.

"We've already been getting bids on the car," dealership owner Mike Faris told the NY Daily News. The dealer's Facebook post has also seen comments with offers ranging from $500 to $8,000, but it's unclear just how high the bidding will go for this piece of TV history.

Those hoping to be the next owner of the wagon will have to wait, as Sony Pictures Television won't allow the vehicle to be sold until after the final episode of the show airs this summer, TMZ reports.

While only one lucky "Breaking Bad" fan will be able to drive away in the Tercel, East Coast drivers in the market for slightly newer, and probably more reliable, cars can head to NJ State Auto Auction to check out the wide selection of makes and models. While it is unlikely that any of these vehicles have had any camera time, they all come with full CARFAX vehicle history reports, so drivers know they're getting a reliable ride.
