Martin Scorsese Will Produce Rolls-Royce Flick

Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese recently signed on to produce "Silver Ghost,' a movie about the lives and love affairs of Henry Royce and Charles Rolls. The film will focus on both the founding of the luxurious Rolls-Royce brand and a love affair between a very special Rolls-Royce model and Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, according to The Press Association.

Lord Montagu was heavily involved in the automotive world during his time in Parliament in the early 1900s. His mistress, Eleanor Thornton, is tied to the Rolls-Royce brand because she is the woman upon whom the brand's "Spirit of Ecstasy" emblem was based, Top Gear reports.

"When I read the story of 'Silver Ghost,' I was mesmerized," Scorsese said of his initial interest in the movie. "I immediately thought this is a picture that has to be made. And when I was asked to come aboard as a producer alongside Richard Attenborough and Anthony Haas, I didn't hesitate for a moment."

Scorsese, who has directed films such as "Hugo," "The Departed," "Taxi Driver" and "Goodfellas", has a knack for creating award-winning films that are well-crafted and beautiful. Actress Kiera Knightley's mother Sharman MacDonald wrote the screenplay for the movie, which has AutoBlog hoping her daughter will be cast as the leading lady.

Rolls-Royce vehicles are as well-known for their elegance and luxury features as they are for their expensive price tags. Drivers looking for used cars in New Jersey can head to the New Jersey State Auto Auction to find an affordable and luxurious model that suits their needs. They may not be able to get behind the wheel of a Phantom or a Ghost, but there are plenty of different makes and models to choose from.

Bentley and Ferrari celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee

Ferrari is helping Queen Elizabeth II celebrate 60 years on the throne by displaying some of the best cars the Italian automaker has to offer. A number of new and classic models will be shown off during the four-day Diamond Jubilee Pageant being held to honor the queen from May 10 to 13.

The car company also brought along the Fourth Mounted Carabinieri Regiment to show off their refined riding skills and showmanship in a choreographed display called the Carosello. The riders and their horses are performing their routine among the Ferraris.

Ferrari was not the only car company that wanted to be a part of the celebration. Bentley built 60 limited edition Mulsannes for the occasion – one car for every year of the Queen's reign. The automaker debuted the first Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition at the opening of its largest dealerships in Beijing, China. The nation has quickly become the largest market for Bentley.

"This series of special cars, hand-built by our Mulliner Division, is our way of reciprocating the appreciation for British institutions, creativity and services we have been shown in China," said Richard Charlesworth, Bentley Motors' director of Royal and VIP relations. "And as proud holders of a Royal Warrant, we also wanted to provide some memorable examples of British technology and craftsmanship."

Amanda Bynes Finds Herself in Trouble Behind the Wheel Again

Not long after being arrested for driving under the influence, former child star Amanda Bynes found herself in some driving trouble again over the weekend. Bynes allegedly sideswiped another vehicle while trying to pass it, sparking a chase that involved six police cars and a helicopter, E! News reports.

Despite the response, the accident was seemingly much more minor than it was made out to be. The man driving the other car says she made contact with her black Range Rover when she was passing him on the right. When she didn't pull over, he called the police and reported a hit and run.

Law enforcement officials were eventually able to catch up with the "She's All That" star and found her car barely suffered any noticeable damage. Investigators say it was likely that she was unaware she even made contact with the motorists vehicle.

"She wasn't given a citation, no one was arrested, no one was hurt," a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told E! "She didn't even know she was involved in an accident. We took a traffic collision report and there will be no further investigation."

While Bynes may be not have been in the wrong here, the fact that she has had two run-ins with the law in just a matter of weeks in a little troubling. Bynes' first issue occurred in early April when she got in a minor fender bender with a police car and was arrested for driving under the influence. Additionally, in March she got a ticket for talking on her phone behind the wheel.

Although you certainly don't want to drive like Bynes, you can still imitate her good taste in cars by heading to New Jersey State Auto Auction. With a wide variety of makes and models at affordable prices, there is the right car for everyone.

Chevy Corvette that May Have Belonged to Neil Armstrong Hits eBay

Every now and then, an auto auction crops up online that features a car with celebrity ties, and the latest eBay Motors sale to make headlines is that of a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette. Classic cars such as this one are pretty hard to come by these days as it is, but this gem has a very unique history – its first owner was Neil Armstrong.

The eBay listing claims Armstrong was given the Corvette in 1966 by Jim Rathman Chevrolet in Florida as part of a special program that gave all astronauts a new Corvette for a year. When Armstrong gave his up, it was purchased by another NASA employee, who held onto it until it was sold to the current owner earlier this year.

The seller does not pussy-foot around the fact that this vehicle is in desperate need of a lot of major work. With the claim that the first man to walk on the moon once sat behind the wheel, the bids are already nearing $250,000. AutoBlog points out the seller offers no proof the Corvette ever belonged to Neil Armstrong aside from a General Motors Protect-O-Plate in the owner's manual with the name "N. A. Armstrong" typed on it.

Drivers looking for used cars in NJ that actually run can head to New Jersey State Auto Auction, which offers a wide variety of makes and models for affordable prices. Motorists will have plenty of options to choose from, whether they want to get behind the wheel of a used Corvette or would prefer something more economical.

Victoria Beckham Helps Design Posh Range Rover

Land Rover is well known for its popular line of luxury SUVs, so it should come as no surprise the manufacturer enlisted the help of one of the most glamorous celebrities in the world to promote its Range Rover Evoque. Victoria Beckham recently helped design and lent her name to a special edition of the SUV.

Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice, is certainly a good fit to help design the car, which recently made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show. Her post-Spice Girls career has been defined mostly by her impeccable style while out with her four children and husband, soccer star David Beckham.

"Both Land Rover and Victoria Beckham are British luxury brands with credibility and global appeal," said Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's director of design. "This dual 'Britishness' makes the collaboration even more exciting especially when considering the huge audience for bespoke products around the world, particularly in China, Russia and Brazil where Land Rover is growing."

Though the Evoque is already fairly luxurious to begin with, Beckham's design takes things to a new level. In particular, its interior is especially attractive with vintage tan leather complete with baseball-esque stitching as a nod to her husband's athletic prowess.

Special edition or not, the Evoque has been one of the most well-reviewed cars of the last year. In fact, it earned the coveted Truck of the Year distinction from Motor Trend magazine.

Thought it might be difficult to get your hands on a specially-designed Evoque, anybody looking for a used car in New Jersey has plenty of appealing SUVs to choose from at New Jersey State Auto Auction. With a wide variety of makes and models to pick from, there's the perfect vehicle for everyone.

Acura’s Avengers Vehicles Make Appearances in Hollywood and New York

Marvel Studios' latest production, The Avengers, recently premiered in Hollywood, and among the red carpet head turners was the arrival of Robert Downey Jr., who plays the affable billionaire genius-turned-hero Tony Stark. The actor showed up driving none other than Tony Stark's Acura NSX Roadster, which was designed specifically for the movie. A few of the other Avengers (Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth) also arrived to the premiere in Acuras. The silver screen car is dark mahogany and covered with chrome details that make it stand out in a crowd. This concept vehicle is a preliminary glimpse into the return of the NSX sports car, which has not been offered since 2005, but is due to return by 2015.

The NSX concept car, which debuted in Detroit a few months ago, also made an appearance at the New York Auto Show alongside the Avengers S.H.I.E.L.D. Acura MDX that was used in the movie. This SUV was specially-designed for the film, and its fictitious features included blue and red flashers in all the exterior lights, a night-vision HUD windshield, bulletproof tires, tinted radar-proof windows and a steering wheel with palm-scan ID. Acura placed the vehicle value at around $3.6 million, and also claimed it had a fuel economy of 302 MPG on the highway, which proved the vehicle was not actually available, despite a display that made it seem real to guests of the show.

While this highly-customized SUV will likely never exist in real life, car lovers can see it in action in the new Avengers movie, due to premiere nationwide on May 5. Those in the market for a tough SUV like the Acura MDX or a sportier model reminiscent of the NSX can head to New Jersey State Auto Auction, which has a variety of used makes and models at affordable prices.

Lady Gaga’s Car Causes a Scene

Lady Gaga is no stranger to turning a few heads, but she drew some attention for reasons other than a dress made from prime rib. The "Poker Face" singer was spotted driving around Beverly Hills, and although her dressed down appearance didn't cause a scene, her Audi R8 GT sports car certainly did, according to the Daily Mail.

Though she ditched the elaborate makeup and costumes for a relatively ordinary outfit, it would be hard to miss the pop star's silver Audi. The vehicle is the most expensive ride offered by the popular German automaker, and likely cost Gaga around $158,000.

The purchase is a bit unusual for Gaga, who, despite her flashy outward appearance, has eschewed buying the lavish goods that her fellow superstars do. In fact, previous to the Audi, she has said the only flashy car she bought was one for her parents.

"The only big things I’ve purchased are my dad's heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary," she said last year, according to The Sun. "And that was only because my dad had a Lady Gaga license plate on our old car and it was making me crazy because he was followed everywhere, so I bought him a new car."

Although not everyone can afford Gaga's new ride , that does not mean drivers should pay any less attention to their cars. Following a regular maintenance schedule is crucial to making sure your car stays in pristine condition, and New Jersey State Auto Auction's Total Car Care center provides a great opportunity to do so. With a convenient location in Jersey City and a knowledgeable staff, the shop offers everything from repairs to general upkeep.

Famous and Exotic Cars Will Be Showcased at Charity Event in Florida Next Month

In a few weeks, celebrities and car enthusiasts will gather in Celebration, Florida, for the Ninth Annual Celebration Exotic Car Festival, which will run from April 12 to 15. The event will feature a number of exotic cars, as well as many cars and trucks made famous on the silver screen.

The first two days of the charity gala will be filled with racing and other exciting events right on the Daytona International Speedway, including an owner-driven Ferrari race. Both vehicles will be on display this April. One of the many DeLorean DMC-12 vehicles from the Back to the Future series will also be on hand, along with the Batmobile, the Star Wars Landspeeder, the Flintstones car and even Herbie the LoveBug.

However, you can still drive in style without breaking the bank. Plenty of used luxury vehicles are affordable, and you can explore your options at the New Jersey State Auto Auction. Mystery Driver in Batman Suit Revealed

The internet was abuzz recently over the strange image of a man dressed in a Batman costume being pulled over by the police. While rumors flew about what the motorist was doing dressed like the Caped Crusader behind the wheel of a black Lamborghini, the mystery is over. According to The Washington Post, his secret identity is actually a Baltimore County businessman named Lenny B. Robinson, who dresses as Batman to visit sick children.

The heartwarming story adds a positive spin on what was a bizarre photo opportunity. The 48-year-old Robinson, who has been immensely successful, uses his wealth (and his Batman obsession) for the greater good, and often travels to hospitals not only meet with kids battling cancer and other diseases, but also to hand out Batman paraphernalia. Though he's not fighting crime like his idol, he still feels the need to do his job.

"It feels like I have a responsibility that’s beyond a normal person," he told the newspaper. "And that responsibility is to be there for the kids, to be strong for them, and to make them smile as much as I can."

Although he already drives an impressive ride (his Lamborghini is peppered with Batman logos), Robinson has some bigger plans in the works. Specifically, he is having a Batmobile custom built to resemble the one used in the movies, but it won't come cheap. The ride will cost him about $250,000.

Not everyone can cruise around town in a Batmobile or Lamborghini, but that doesn't mean you can't hit the road in style. New Jersey State Auto Auction has plenty of cars to choose from, so you'll be sure to find the right make and model for you.

Mitt Romney Nods to Family’s Car Connection with Secret Service Code Name

The Secret Service assigns codenames to presidential leaders and candidates, and Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum recently got to pick theirs. Santorum's handle is "Petrus" and Romney chose the code name "Javelin," according to National Public Radio. They are not given free reign over their security nicknames, or you'd probably wind up with a lot of "Mavericks" and "Eagles." Instead, the Secret Service presents presidential candidates with a list of possible options to choose from.

Romney's choice was not a nod to the Olympic track and field device, but a muscle car produced by the American Motors Corporation (AMC) from 1967 to 1974. AMC, which was bought out by Chrysler in 1987, was once run by Romney's father, George M. Romney. AutoBlog attempted to find similarities between the Republican presidential nominee and the classic car he identified with, and only managed to see contrast between the company's reputation for being nearly broke during the entirety of its existence and Romney's well-funded campaign.

The Huffington Post states Romney's code name is appropriate, as many conservatives view him as a machine not unlike the Transformers, ready and able to change his shape at a moment's notice.

The more likely case is that Romney saw the word on the list, thought of his father and chose the name. An AMC Javelin is not exactly easy to come by either, so Romney won't be seen driving one around any time soon.

Those looking to get behind the wheel of their own muscle car or another vehicle that means a lot to them can head to New Jersey State Auto Auction. NJ Auto has a wide variety of makes and models, so drivers will be sure to find the car they're looking for.
