Used X3s in New York benefit from BMW delays

BMW won’t be selling its newest X3 in the U.S. as early as originally thought, which might mean used X3s in New York could experience better sales.

The X3 is going to be built in South Carolina, according to Automobile Magazine. While the BMW will be built in the U.S., it will go on sale in Europe six months earlier. This schedule is unusual because American-built BMWs are normally first sold in the U.S. market and then in Europe.

The X3 will arrive late because BMW is setting up a new customer order program in which individuals will be able to customize their vehicle, reports the news source.

People who are looking to purchase this BMW immediately might choose to buy a used X3 in New York or elsewhere rather than waiting. Although the 2007 models have already been on the road for more than two years, they come equipped with a variety of features, like a 3-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 260 horsepower and a stability control system, according to Edmunds.com. The base price for an X3 of this year is generally around $24,000.

Spy photos could get buyers excited about used BMWs in New Jersey

Spy photos of a 2012 BMW could get consumers excited about buying a used 3-series in New Jersey.

Car and Driver recently released spy pictures it has from Munich, Germany of the 2012 BMW 3-series. The car pictured will be the sixth generation of the 3, which first debuted in 1975, and the publication said the manufacturer is working hard to outdo itself.

“There’s a lot to come: the next-generation 3 will again be offered in number of body styles, including a touring wagon or sport wagon, coupe and cabriolet, which – contrary to what we’ve hoped for – will keep the heavy and complex retractable hard top,” writes Car and Driver’s Jens Meiners.

The current 3-series was first released in 2006, according to Edmunds.com, and came equipped with either a 215 horsepower six-cylinder engine or a 255 horsepower six-cylinder engine at first. The difference in muscle was due to different levels of displacement, the latter being half a liter larger than the former.

Used BMWs in New Jersey might start attracting more attention now that word is out about the new 3-series.

My Name is Earl star sighting could offer reason to check out used BMWs in New York

Jaime Pressly has starred in Not Another Teen Movie, Joe Dirt and can be currently seen on the TV series My Name is Earl. She can also be found with her black convertible, one that may just spark conversations about used BMW 6-Series in New York.

The trim blonde was spotted by paparazzi getting into the sleek convertible after picking up a parking ticket, but anyone who checks out the car’s performance statistics could imagine a propensity for causing other violations as well.

Slotted just below the German automaker’s flagship 7-series, the 6-series offers “nimble handling for a big coupe,” according to Edmunds reviewers after driving the 2004 model, and they also cited the “endless power” from a well-tuned V8 engine.

The shape and design of used BMW 6-series may have some detractors, but overall it’s a “phenomenal work of automotive engineering,” the website notes, offering a return to larger sports coupes following a 14-year break in 6-series production when it was introduced in 2003.

Buyers looking for used BMWs in New Jersey should know ’03 M3s still keep up

BMW‘s high-performance version of its compact 3-series is now in its fourth generation and people shopping for used M3s in New Jersey might like to know that they could be getting a lot of bang for their buck.

The original M3 rolled out of the factory in 1986 and has held a special place in the hearts of some enthusiasts ever since. To them, the M badge represents the special sort of German craftsmanship that one finds with BMW’s “motorsport” styles.

“I always loved the E46 M3,” Tommy Reyes told Eurotuner Magazine. Reyes used to have a Dodge Viper and a Toyota Supra, but the M3 is the most exciting car he has ever owned, says the publication. “It has a timeless look and the body will never grow old for me.”

Few would deny that the 2009 BMW M3 is a worthwhile purchase, assuming you have the means to buy one. But it seems that buyers looking for a used M3 in New Jersey haven’t forgotten that older generation BMWs can still get the job done.

Glowing reviews could spawn sales of used BMW 1-series in New Jersey

The BMW 1-series was only released a couple years ago, but based on the plaudits that it has earned from automotive journalists, buyers considering used cars in New Jersey may want to take a look at the newest model added to BMW’s U.S. offerings.

It was designed to fill the entry-level hole left by the now-larger 3-series, and over 18 months, the testers at Edmunds found that it was a worthy addition, although it is different in handling and character than other BMWs.

“It offers the precise handling, comfort and commanding driving position we’ve come to expect from the brand, and we’ve also learned that a quick, wiry personality is also unique to the 1 Series,” they note in an analysis of their long-term test of the 2008 model.

A Cars.com review suggest that buyers considering used BMW 1-series in New Jersey will be a fan of the interior, noting that “simple elegance is the name of the game with BMW’s interiors, which have a modernity to them that isn’t found in all luxury cars.”

They also lauded the model’s performance and especially it’s handling, although some drivers may not like the effort required to turn the steering wheel.

Used BMW 5-series in New York may work for those uninterested in newer models

Spy shots of the 2010 BMW 5-series have leaked on the internet, and some car enthusiasts may not be fans of the new design, even without the paisley graphics used by testers to disguise the overall view. In that case, used BMW 5-series in New York could be a better bet.

BMW enthusiasts have lamented some of the newer models for the past several years, including the use of “eyebrow” indicator lights above the headlamps and the more curvaceous cues, according to CarEnthusiast.com.

“The rear loses the raised [trunk] lid of the existing car, but the bold rear lights remain and dominate the rear styling,” the website notes, adding that from the rear, it looks a lot like current BMW 3-series, with other design cues linking it to the 2009 Z4 roadster.

If you’re looking for a used BMW 5-series in New York that doesn’t have the eyebrow light arrangement, a 2003 model could work well.

“The 5 Series is an excellent midsize luxury car, whether you choose the high-performance 540i or a comparatively basic 525i wagon,” noted the editors at Edmunds.com. “If you can afford one, we’d highly recommend it.”

Used BMW X5s in New Jersey may be safer than newer models

Buyers may be concerned about a recall of two new BMW SUVs due to rear brake issues by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. If they want to choose from the automaker’s other options, they could look at used BMW X5s in New Jersey that have received high safety ratings.

The NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation issued the German automaker a notice to recall 2009 BMW X5s and X6s because of faulty manufacturing in the rear brake discs, which provide the clamping force necessary to slow the wheels.

ODI said that the brake assembly could potentially reduce stopping ability, and in extreme cases the brakes could fail entirely.

Used BMW X5s in New Jersey, on the other hand, have good safety ratings, including 5-star crash ratings for the 2004 model, noted Cars.com.

Reviewer Jim Flammang wrote that the car-based SUV may attract buyers because of its “more distinctive, eye-catching shape” compared to offerings from other luxury automakers, as well as its strong acceleration when equipped with either a V8 or V6 engine.

New 7-series price point and weight could tip buyers towards used BMWs in New York

For consumers who need a luxury sedan that goes from 0 to 60 miles per housr in less than 5 seconds, it may be easy to justify the $136,000 that a new BMW 760i will cost. Others who enjoy the styling and quality that the line offers may prefer a used BMW 7-series in New York that runs less than a quarter of that price.

The cars represent the top-of-the-line for BMW sedans, and a V12 engine that puts out more than 540 horsepower to the wheels along with a spacious interior and an eight-speed automatic transmission to help the driveline handle the power, according to the automaker’s release.

But consumers who like the design cues of older BMWs without the “shark nose” of more recent models, and would enjoy a luxury sedan that can propel them from a standstill to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds may find used BMW 745s more to their liking.

The 2005 model allows drivers to enjoy a “satisfying” level of ride comfort, even when the sedan shows “its ability to slice through curves considerably faster than expected,” according to Cars.com reviewer Jim Flammang.

New 5-Series GT may not be as attractive to buyers as used BMW cars in New York

Consumers looking for used BMW cars in New York may have spotted a pre-production version of the BMW 5-series GT near the Holland Tunnel or in New Jersey, as user-submitted photos on Jalopnik.com and other websites found the cars in the tri-state area.

The GT incorporates a “fastback” style design where the trunk lid slopes up into the rear windshield giving it a look that most closely resembles a sedan mixed with a hatchback.

But for buyers considering a used car in New York, the design may not be as enticing as the classic BMW 5-series, which has come in sedan and coupe versions for decades.

A 2004 model could be one option for shoppers who are taken with the newer designs instituted by BMW that year including curving body panels. The car’s control panel incorporatesthe iDrive, an integrated control system that handles radio, air conditioning and other interior amenities through a single screen. I would consider making this two sentences.

Edmunds.com editors say that the optional V8 is even more powerful than older engines, and “buyers can expect greater handling from this premier midsize sedan than before.”

BMW convertibles offer handling and hard-top convenience

For almost 80 years, BMW has been offering sleek roadsters, which provide buyers with the handling of a rear-wheel drive vehicle and a design that the company hopes will live up to, the promise of an “ultimate driving machine.”

The model now offers a hard-top option that can be raised or lowered in under half a minute, as well as a sport suspension that drops the car up to half an inch when needed for stiff handling in certain situations.

For those looking for a more alternative option, the Z4 that was introduced in 2003 may provide some of that flair, according to editors from the Edmunds.com website.

As a replacement for the Z3 roadster, they were concerned about styling that has since taken hold in all BMW models, but say that the update is “even more fun to drive,” than older predecessors.

The options, even for standard base models, leaves a variety of transmission and other options up to a used car buyer, wrote the editors, and the “superb road manners” and standard features can be found across the offerings of trim lines available to used car buyers at a cost that approaches those of new convertibles: under $15,000 in New Jersey.
