Effects of Tiger Woods crash on Cadillac unclear

Pro golfer Tiger Woods was recently involved in a car accident near Windermere, Florida, which might affect perceptions of used Cadillac Escalades in New Jersey.

On November 27, Woods was taken to the hospital after crashing his Escalade into a fire hydrant and a tree, according to the Orlando Sentinel. At first, various news channels reported that Woods had been seriously injured – claims that were eventually found to be inaccurate. Woods had cuts and bruises on his face, but the hospital said he was in good shape overall when he left.

“It seems like a very strange accident that occurred,” Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn told CNN. “Basically it was facial lacerations, and as I’m understanding it, nothing that serious.”

Although his injuries were reported to be mild, Woods has decided not to play at the upcoming Chevron World Challenge, according to the New York Daily News.

“I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week,” he wrote on his website.

While it seems Woods will recover from his injuries, it is unclear if his wreck will affect sales of used Cadillac Escalades in New Jersey.

Celebrity couple perpetuates popularity of used Escalades in New York

Actors and pro athletes can be influential in a variety of matters, and impacting perceptions of which cars are cool is no exception. Used Escalades in New York could benefit from a recent celeb sighting.

In October 2009, American Superstar Magazine reported that former LA Laker Rick Fox and Eliza Dushku of the TV series Dollhouse had confirmed their relationship. Recently, the couple was spotted attaching a bike rack to their Cadillac Escalade, according to CelebrityCarsBlog.com.

The Escalade has long been a popular SUV among the Hollywood crowd. Appearing in the popular HBO drama series The Sopranos and a variety of hip hop music videos, this Cadillac turns heads with its 20-inch chrome rims and the bassy exhaust note produced by its monstrous V8.

A 2004 Escalade with a 6-liter engine and all wheel drive generally sells for about $17,000, according to Edmunds.com. Drivers looking for better fuel economy can opt for the 5.3-liter motor and rear-wheel-drive Escalade, which gets slightly higher gas mileage.

Cadillac has always been a name that has stood for luxury, and when celebrities like Rick Fox and Eliza Dushku are spotted in one of these cars, used Escalades in New York seem even classier to some.

Heavy metal princess drives a Cadillac; Used CTSs in New Jersey could reap the benefits

The Cadillac brand and used CTSs in New Jersey could become more popular now that Kelly Osborne has been sighted getting out of her personal Caddy.

Osbourne was recently photographed with her two dogs in front of a black Cadillac, according to CelebrityCarsBlog.com. Although the 25-year-old is originally from London, it appears she prefers to drive American.

One of Cadillac’s finest models is its CTS. This sedan was first released in 2003 and although it was redesigned five years later, the first and second generation look very similar. Some drivers might prefer to have a first generation model because there were more engines to choose from during this period. Individuals who want to consume the smallest amount of fuel might be interested to know that the smallest engine in the latest CTS is 3.6-liter, while the original was available with a 2.8-liter.

A base model 2006 CTS normally sells for about $17,000, according to Edmunds.com. With the smaller V6, this Caddy can get up to 19 miles to the gallon.

Heavy metal fans might start looking out for used CTSs in New Jersey when they see Osbourne pictured in front of her Cadillac.

Used Cadillac CTS-V in New York set to take on Mitsubishi Lancer MR

Bob Lutz is General Motors vice chairman of global product development, and challenged anyone in the industry to take him on for a series of time trial laps at Monticello Motor Club. Those considering used Cadillac CTS-Vs in New York may want to see how his 2009 model fares against several competitors, including a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR.

The car enthusiasts at Jalopnik were one of the few to take Lutz seriously, and had been pleading with companies to allow a production model vehicle for them to race against the GM executive. After an initial dalliance with Jaguar, they decided on the Lancer, and the race is set for tomorrow.

As the journalists at the website will note, the CTS-V has a lot of power under the hood, with a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 providing more than 550 horsepower. But it can also be an affordable luxury performance sedan for those taking a look at used Cadillac CTS-Vs in New York.

Of the 2005 version, Edmunds.com noted that “the fast and nimble CTS-V is one of the most promising signs yet that Cadillac is ready to take on the world,” and even new, it was priced more economically than its competitors.

Discontinued models could provide value to buyers of used cars in New York

As automakers struggle to control costs, models are being dropped and that could mean savings forr buyers considering used cars in New York, according to an Edmunds.com report.

Two losses include the Cadillac CTS-V and the Chevrolet Cobalt SS, two sportier versions of other cars that the reviewers loved, especially the CTS-V whose “handling is exceptional and thankfully, its pricing is more down-to-earth than that of its Teutonic rivals.”

It may also benefit buyers to look at a used Cadillac CTS-V in New York, as well as other discontinued models, because used car values depreciate more rapidly when there are no new cars in the line.

“The CTS makes you feel like you’re piloting a Corvette or a Viper,” noted the Chicago Tribune of the 2005 model, adding, “the V-Series CTS does things you don’t expect from a sedan, and certainly not from a Cadillac.”

For those looking for a more affordable option, used Chevrolet Cobalts in New York that come in the SS trim offer a 260-horsepower engine that helps 0-60 times of less than 60 seconds with 25 mpg combined.

Keep the scariness to trick-or-treating and consider used Mitsubishi Lancers in New Jersey

Halloween is just around the corner, and families with younger children may want to reconsider buying certain new models and stick with used cars in New Jersey, based on the results of a new kbb.com report.

The website, part of the Kelley Blue Book Family, recently ranked the top 10 cars that would be worth making into a halloween costume because of “intimidating faces” that have “sharp angles, squinting eyes and gaping maws (as if emitting battle cries or preparing to eat their prey).”

While those characteristics may be important for making scary costumes, they might not provide as much peace of mind when kids aren’t looking to get scared, especially the menacing Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and the Cadillac CTS, ranked numbers 1 and 3 respectively by the report.

That doesn’t mean that a used Mitsubishi Lancer in New Jersey couldn’t be used for family trips, however. Earlier models, like those from 2004 to 2007, have a much rounder shape that could be more child-friendly. Low-lying instrument panels also promote visibility for drivers, according to Cars.com.

Paris Hilton’s SUV could be reason enough to check out used Cadillac Escalades in New York

Paris Hilton’s choice in cars is going to get her in celebrity magazines because she’s popular, and people want to know when she decides to go hybrid. People on a tighter budget can still look to the luxury SUV market, though, and consider used Cadillac Escalades in New York.

In fact, the young magazine mainstay was recently spotted exiting one of the newer Cadillac Escalade hybrids, developed for those who want somewhat better fuel economy with the ability to bring seven friends along for a ride in style.

But does incuding a hybrid powertrain really make sense for those who are looking for a luxury nameplate on an SUV that can carry around most families in a popular style? Well, used Cadillac Escalades in New York only suffer a 5 mpg hit compared to their new hybrid brethren, but at a price premium of $50,000, according to Edmunds.com estimates of new and used pricing.

You can achieve the same look as Paris Hilton’s ride, or that of prominent businessmen and women, at a fraction of the price if you go used. And unlike Hilton, you can use the money you saved on an exclusive party for you and your friends.

Swayze’s ouevre may point buyers to used Cadillac STS-Vs in New Jersey

Patrick Swayze’s recent passing has led some fans to go back over his work, watching favorites like Dirty Dancing, Road House and others. In his last piece of work as an undercover FBI agent, however, Swayze could bring buyers closer to used Cadillac STS-Vs in New Jersey.

In contrast to earlier roles that focused on classic cars from the 1950s and 1960s, the A&E series the Beast debuted in 2009 with Swayze playing the role of a grizzled agent pursued by personal demons and an Internal Affairs team bent on getting him for various infractions that the series never had time to explain before his pancreatic cancer forced him to back out, according to entertainment industry sources.

But Swayze’s character used the sedan to get in and out of rough situations, and his fans may see more than just a ghost of a great actor if they consider used Cadillac STS-Vs in New Jersey.

The 2006 model “steers with a light feel, comports itself neatly on wet pavement and yields confident sensations,” notes Cars.com, even for drivers on better terms with law enforcement than the characters on the A&E show.

Buyers considering used cars in New York may see new GM ads

General Motors marketing head Bob Lutz has told his advertising teams that he was not impressed with recent marketing efforts for Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac, and some say that his arrival could mean that buyers considering used cars in New York will see new commercials with more input from automotive designers within the company.

He told teams that while recent spots for Cadillac and Chevrolet may have tested well, they were not “effective” advertisements, according to a report in Advertising Age.

“I think you will very quickly see a drastic change in the tone and content of our advertising,” Lutz said according to online magazine. “And if you don’t, it will mean that I have failed.”

The move by Lutz to curtail recent marketing efforts represents one facet of GM’s attempt to become profitable before its chief stakeholder puts the automaker back on the market.

Ron Bloom, chairman of the U.S. Treasury task force overseeing the bailouts of both GM and Chrysler said that he was eager to “dispose” of the government’s stake in General Motors, hopefully by next year, according to an Associated Press report.

Used cars in New Jersey may be best option now that ‘new’ GM has pared offerings

A new General Motors is in the offing after a slimmed-down version of the automaker cleared the bankruptcy court on July 10, but enthusiasts of several performance models may look to used cars in New Jersey now that GM has ceased production of several lines.

GM CEO Fritz Henderson says that being able to slough off less profitable makes and suppliers will help to make the company a more fit competitor in the global market place, but adds that government investments have offered “a precious second chance, [but] there are no third chances.”

Car enthusiast site Jalopnik.com has compiled a list of the models that consumers may have considered buying before their production was curtailed as a result of recent restructuring by General Motors and Chrysler.

For fans of the sportier Chevrolet Cobalt, a used Cobalt SS in New Jersey will be the way to go for those who are interested in the high-powered compact coupe that packs a turbocharged 2.2 liter engine. Similarly, those looking for the CTS-V sports car from Cadillac may turn to classifieds for used cars in New York to sate their thirst for luxury and performance, according to the website.
