It’s great to be a car enthusiast in Jersey City, New Jersey, as you’re within a short drive of many auto-related activities and events. If you’re interested in attending car shows, you’ll be spoiled for choice as well. Over the course of the year, plenty of auto shows are held throughout the state, featuring a wide array of interesting vehicles. The following is a list of popular car shows in New Jersey:

Classic Car Show & Oldies Day

The Classic Car Show & Oldies Day has been part of the scheduled events at Monmouth Park Racetrack for more than 25 years. It showcases almost 150 exceptionally well-restored antique vehicles, including classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, minivans, and even a vintage police patrol wagon. Besides admiring spectacular vehicles, you can also meet renowned DJ Big Joe Henry, watch local oldies group The Cameos in action, and enjoy a variety of fun family activities. 

Admission to the Classic Car Show & Oldies Day is $5 for attendees aged 13 and above and free for children 12 and younger. If you park your vehicle at the Monmouth Park Racetrack, you have to pay a parking fee of $5. Monmouth Park Racetrack is located in Oceanport, which is about an hour’s drive from Jersey City. 

North Jersey Auto Show

Another car show worth attending in New Jersey is the North Jersey Auto Show. Usually held in May, this annual event is located at the Bergen Community College in Paramus. It features a diverse selection of vehicles from the 1996 model year and earlier, including classic cars, muscle cars, custom cars, imported cars, trucks, and emergency vehicles. Winners in their respective categories will receive a trophy at the end of the show. In addition, the event has an automotive flea market with 50 vendors selling car parts, accessories, and memorabilia, as well as trivia contests and live music. 

Entrance fee for the North Jersey Auto is $5 per person. Paramus is only about 20 miles north of Jersey City, so you can get there in about half an hour.

Corvette, Classic Car and Truck Show

If you’re a fan of the Chevrolet Corvette, you should definitely check out the Corvette, Classic Car and Truck Show. Since 1986, this annual car show has been a highly anticipated event among Corvette owners and admirers in New Jersey and other parts of the country. It takes place in October at the Woodbridge Community Center in Woodbridge. You’ll have the chance to see an extensive variety of Corvettes from different generations, which gives you an idea of how the long-standing nameplate has evolved over the years. Also on display are classic cars and trucks of other makes and models. 

Spectators can attend the Corvette, Classic Car, and Truck Show free of charge. The driving time from Jersey City to Woodbridge is roughly half an hour. 

Bimtoberfest Car Show

The Bimtoberfest Car Show is a celebration of the rich history and legacy of BMW. It’s one of the largest car shows of its kind in New Jersey, drawing close to a thousand attendees each year. Held in September at the Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School in Bridgewater, this event showcases some of the finest BMW vehicles in New Jersey, including classics, high-performance models, and rare and specialty cars. It also includes the unveiling of one or more models in the latest BMW lineup. 

The Bimtoberfest Car Show is free to attend. From Jersey City, you need to drive about half an hour to get to Bridgewater. 

Midtown Car and Bike Show

In August, Historic Midtown Elizabeth plays host to the Midtown Car and Bike Show. The streets will be lined with hundreds of classic and modern vehicles, including vintage cars, muscle cars, race cars, custom cars, and motorcycles. Make sure you stick around until the end to witness the award presentation ceremony. Other than an amazing display of vehicles, this event also includes a street fair, a food festival, raffles, contests, live music, and more than 35 vendors selling auto-related products. 

The Historic Midtown Elizabeth offers free admission to the general public. Located only 13 miles west of Jersey City, Elizabeth is just a 20-minute drive away.

Voorhees Township Police Foundation Benefit Car Show

The Voorhees Township Police Foundation Benefit Car Show takes place in early May every year at the parking lot behind the AMC Voorhees 16 Movie Theatre in Voorhees. It features hundreds of vehicles of different makes, models, and eras, as well as an interesting tactical vehicle display. More than 150 trophies and specialty awards will be presented. Along with the auto show, there will also be a silent auction, a K-9 unit demonstration, live music, and food trucks. 

As a spectator, you can attend the Voorhees Township Police Foundation Benefit Car Show free of charge. A trip from Jersey City to Voorhees takes about one and a half hours. 

Porsche Boardwalk Reunion

In mid-October every year, numerous Porsche owners and enthusiasts from across New Jersey and beyond will make their way to the Boardwalk in Ocean City to attend the Porsche Boardwalk Reunion. This car show stars more than 350 Porsches of all models from 1954 to 2021. Each year, certain limited-production models will be selected to lead the Boardwalk Parade of Porsches and take center stage in front of the world-famous Ocean City Music Pier. For instance, the featured models for the 2021 event are the Porsche Weissach and Anniversary editions. 

You don’t need to be a member of a Porsche club or pay an entrance fee to attend the Porsche Boardwalk Reunion. Just join in the fun and take advantage of the fantastic photo opportunities along the Boardwalk.
