Allow your dog to break free from its leash at Park Dog Run at Van Vorst Park, a historic area located at 257 Montgomery St. The well-maintained space enables your pet to play freely with other animals. There are also designated areas for big and small breeds. For example, if you own a Great Dane, then you can head to the side of the park where the golden retrievers, German shepherds, and Rottweilers roam. If your furry-tailed companion is a beagle, then it can mingle in the space with poodles, Chihuahuas, and cocker spaniels.

The purpose of the separate areas is to protect your pets as they make new friends. You can supervise the activities from one of the benches inside the park.

The Light Horse Tavern

Grab brunch with a group of friends and your dog on the patio of Light Horse Tavern. Your pet can sip from a bowl of water while you dine on fine cuisines, such as oysters, salads, and steaks. There’s also a selection of beer when you’re in the mood for celebrating, along with desserts, such as bread pudding and blueberry cobbler, to quell your sweet tooth.

Find an available spot adjacent to the street when you and your pup prepare to visit the tavern. Whether you want to have a meal in the daylight or the moonlight, the Light Horse Tavern at 199 Washington St. can welcome you and your dog outside.

Echo Lake Park

Spend a sunny day with your pet at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside. In the middle of the park, there are over 2 acres of space dedicated for dogs. Feel free to take off your pet’s leash and allow your dog to sprint with other animals. There are areas that group pets based on their sizes, and the fences separate the spaces to enable safe playing. While your pet exercises, you can relax on one of the benches and chat with fellow dog owners.

There are two ways to enter Echo Lake Park. One is from Mountain Avenue, and the other is from Springfield Avenue Remember to bring playtime equipment, such as tennis balls and sticks, to enhance your pet’s park experience. To keep the area clean, you can take advantage of the waste bag receptacles at the park.

Corgi Spirits Distillery

If its name isn’t a big enough hint, Corgi Spirits Distillery is friendly to dog breeds, especially corgis. Its outdoor area offers space for you to take your dog on an afternoon walk, while you can browse the selection of whiskey, gin, and vodka. Once you’ve made your purchases, find a spot to enjoy live music and chat with fellow patrons, or you can simply feel the spring breeze with your furry friend by your side.

At Building P at 1 Distillery Drive, you can expand your alcohol collection and spend quality time with your dog. The distillery is open afternoons and evenings from Thursday to Sunday. Before your visit, check out the event calendar on the distillery’s website to find upcoming functions that may interest you and your pup.

Sgt. Anthony Dog Park

Sgt. Anthony Dog Park is open from the early morning to the late evening, providing a wide range of times to visit with your pet. It’s an ideal destination if you prefer to be outside when the temperatures are cooler. You can also take advantage of the early hours to enjoy a morning walk with your dog before getting ready for work or running errands for the rest of the day. The address for the park is 90–100 Palisade Ave.

Besides the designated dog area, there’s a playground and community garden that you can wander through to enjoy the outdoors. Feel free to bring young children with you to the park as the four-legged member of your family mingles with other animals of its size. As a pet owner, you can also register for a newsletter to learn more about the community’s initiatives to maintain the park.

Zeppelin Hall

Not only is Zeppelin Hall a must-see attraction for a date night, but it’s also a great place for your entire family, including your pet. Secure a leash around your dog and enter the backyard of the biergarten. The pet can enjoy the aroma of smoked barbecue and receive friendly pets from patrons. The establishment serves American and German cuisine to satisfy your taste buds, along with an assortment of alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine, and cocktails. On the weekends, DJs play all the hits while patrons take to the dance floor.

There’s nothing wrong with spending a night out with your dog, especially at a place as dynamic as Zeppelin Hall. Take a drive to 88 Liberty View Drive to start the fun. Plan your outing when the venue is open, which is from Thursday to Sunday each week.
