Acura Information:In 1986, the U.S added two new brands to its vehicle lineup - Hyundai and Acura. Acura is a subsidiary of Japanese automotive giant Honda, and the luxury brand was the company's way of expanding its lineup. Starting out, Acura only offered two models - the Legend sedan and the Integra sports coupe. The brand took off right away and has remained relatively popular over the years, despite a slower sales period in the 1990s. This is when the automaker changed things up and rebranded the names of its vehicles with alphanumeric designations, similar to the practices of other popular luxury brands including BMW and Lexus.
The Integra became the RSX to match the name of the NSX, which debuted in 1991. Acura also introduced the SLX SUV, which was quite similar to an Isuzu model, and the company soon replaced it with the MDX, which is still in production today. The MDX is joined by the RDX in Acura's SUV lineup, and the automaker also expanded its smaller car lineup as well. The NSX had been discontinued, but the RSX was joined by the TSX wagon, the TL midsize sedan and the RL luxury sedan.
While the overarching idea of the brand is to provide luxurious options for drivers, another appealing aspect of these models is the price tag. They are priced relatively low compared to their competitors, which is especially good news for used car shoppers. This means drivers can find used Acura models at New Jersey Auto Auction for affordable pricing. Plus, every vehicle on the lot is CARFAX certified, just one more guarantee that motorists are getting behind the wheel of reliable rides.
